15 Ways: Werkman

For the Werkman-method I wanted to show Oowa geometrically (triangles) and almost abstract. I wanted to show Oowa in relation to that which he doesn’t know. He lives in the savannah, but longs to know what else is out there in the world. Whatever it is, he doesn’t know; he doesn’t know what to expect.

I wanted to show this by making a contrast between Oowa in the savannah and the sky. Oowa and the savannah are warm colors that make sense: Oowa knows the trees and the colors of the savannah; symbolizing him knowing his own world. The sky, however, is bigger, and harder to relate to anything he knows; symbolizing the world he doesn’t know, being bigger, unknown, and very different from his own world.
